Love is in the Air!

Your Auston Grove Team would like to wish you all
a very Happy Valentine’s Day. We try to spread our love to you all year round,
but extra love is being sent your way this month! You may be pampering yourself
on Valentine’s Day or you could be snuggled up with someone special.
Either way, we hope your day is full of love and joy.

Super Bowl:
Sunday, February 1, 2015

On Sunday, February 1st , Super Bowl XLIX will take place as the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will play to decide the National Football League champion for the 2014 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30pm Eastern Time.

If you are having or attending a get together, here is a cool recipe you might want to WOW the crowd with:

Old Bay Wings

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
2 pounds chicken wingettes and drumettes
2 1/2 tablespoons red hot sauce, preferably Frank's Red Hot
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Preheat the oven to 500°. Line a large baking sheet with foil and spray with vegetable oil. In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt and Old Bay seasoning. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Spread the chicken on the baking sheet in a single layer and spray with vegetable oil. Roast the chicken for 45 minutes, turning once or twice, until browned and crispy. In a bowl, toss the chicken wings with the hot sauce, butter and Worcestershire sauce; serve.

Celebrate Black History Month

Black History Month began in 1926 as part of an initiative by writer and educator Dr. Carter G. Woodson who launched Negro History Week in 1926.Woodson proclaimed that Negro History Week should always occur in the second week of February —between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Since 1976, every American president has proclaimed February as Black History Month. Today, other countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom also devote an entire month to celebrating black history.

Groundhog Day

On Monday, February 2nd Punxsutawney Phil will be emerging from his burrow. Let’s cross our fingers and hope he does not see his shadow so the spring weather can come!
