Spinach-and-Ricotta Stuffed Shells Veggie Recipe

Spinach-and-Ricotta Stuffed Shells Veggie Recipe

Darren Kincaid - Wednesday, July 14, 2010

When the kids don’t want to eat their veggies then call in the reinforcements:  Cheese and shells- slide the spinach under the cheese and shells.

We have so many great chef’s living among us at Auston Grove Apartments maybe we can all swap recipes.  I found this recipe on MyRecipes.com and wanted to share it.  I remember one evening going over to my sister’s apartment for supper.  Her and her husband have three beutiful children together and they always try to skim on the veggies.  She has to find creative ways to sneak vegetables into the meals and she does it so well because the food is always scrumptious.

When I found this recipe for Spinach-and-Ricotta Stuffed Shells I thought about the night my sister blended up some beats and mixed it in with the stew and meatloaf.  If I hadn’t seen her add those beats and vegetables with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it.  The kids didn’t believe it at all because they cleaned there plates with out saying a word.

This is a recipe for being sneaky with veggies so that everyone gets there fair serving of the green stuff.

This meal takes about 20 minutes to prepare and an hour for cooking.  You can serve six with the ingredients displayed and the cost per serving is about $2.24.

The first thing you’ll need is:

24  jumbo pasta shells
1  15-oz. container ricotta
2  cups  shredded mozzarella
1/2  cup  shredded Parmesan
1  10-oz. package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1  large egg, lightly beaten
Salt and pepper
1  teaspoon  Italian seasoning
Pinch of ground nutmeg

There is no rush to prepare this recipe tonight is Wednesday Dominoes will have $5 pizza’s at the clubhouse from 5-6pm.  In the mean time you can gather all of the ingredients.  When you are ready to prepare this meal click on the picture of  Spinach-and-Ricotta Stuffed Shells and enjoy.

What Happens When I’m Agree?

What Happens When I’m Agree?

Darren Kincaid - Friday, July 09, 2010

I personally have witnessed two random acts of anger in the last two weeks which prompted me to think about how the situations could have been entirely different if someone had chosen the kinder road.

As a nation, we are stressed.  This stress leads to health problems, relationship problems, and random acts of anger and hostility.

“Be nice and smile to everyone you meet. You don’t know what they are going through, and they may need that smile. And treasure it.”
  ~Christine M. Huppert

I can personally say that I feel MUCH better when I am nice to someone versus when I am short or angry with them.   These random acts of hostility and anger are unfortunately CONTAGIOUS.

People on the receiving end become stressed and are much more likely to treat others with anger and hostility.  I challenge each of you to practice random acts of kindness for the next 30 days and then let us know the result.

I bet that each of you who meet this challenge will feel less stressed, more happy, and more peaceful at the end of the month.  Just check out this article for random acts of kindness and see more ideas and reasons why they can be good for you!

How do you feel about kindness Auston Grove?  Could the random acts of anger be causing more stress in your life?

Rule #1 Believe In Yourself

Rule #1 Believe In Yourself

Darren Kincaid - Tuesday, June 29, 2010
Here is the Key to making a fortune: “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job”
~Jim Rohn

You have more on the inside of you that you realize. Do you ever look at your circumstances and say to yourself I’ve got more in me than this; than what’s outside? Have you ever felt that you have so much to give but you just haven’t mustered up the greatness yet?

Stand strong, this is your season! If you will allow me, I will share some words with you that should assist you beginning right now in three simple steps.

1. Believe in you. This is not a cliché it is a revelation. If you believe in the possibilities of reaching and living higher then have the faith in God that increases self confidence.

2. Write out the expectation- You know that you see where you are going clear enough if you can write it out in a phrase or two. We, as humans hardly ever reach for things that we do not see. The clearer your vision the more conviction in accomplishing it you will have.

3. Be tenacious- Tenacity and faith live in the same pod. If you don’t have faith in a thing then you won’t be consistent in accomplishing it. There is no magic trick to success other than never giving up.

The man or woman who never quits will always eventually win.

How do you see yourself? Where do you see yourself going and are you unwilling to grow disinterested in arriving at your goal? Enjoy your life every gifted day of it.

P.S.  How much are you willing to take? Until you start believing in yourself…… It ain’t gonna happen.

Think About The Right Way First

Think About The Right Way First

Darren Kincaid - Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Why you do a certain thing has great power in influencing rather you will accomplish that task or not. It is great to dream big. In fact the bigger the better. I always tell people to go for their dreams and use their imagination to see things more clearly. But one thing that I make sure not to leave out in our conversation is that there is never any substitute for action.

Regardless to how big your dream or vision may be you can not just sit around daydreaming and expect for your fantasy world to just magically be created by your invisible friends and placed right in your lap. What we think will absolutely affect the outcome because when our perception changes then we change what we will take action on.

There is a certain book and movie that came out recently that takes about the power of our mind and being able to attract things to us. Quite frankly I think that it is a dangerous thing to expect to simply think and will something into your life, like “Poof!” Somewhere along the way many people began to grab hold of this shortcut mentality. If you look to do things the right way with enough tenacity, I believe that your outcome will be much more desirable than looking or secrets and tricks; but that’s just my opinion. (Free ebook)

Blog About Happiness

Blog About Happiness

Darren Kincaid - Wednesday, June 02, 2010
Would you like to know three things that you could do right now to live a happier life? Well keep reading this blog about happiness. The rest of this blog will be very simple yet if you implement these tactics you will begin to live life even happier than you are now.

The first thing is to Laugh more. You shouldn’t take you, life or your situations to seriously. You can find humor in just about any situation. Laugh at yourself – no one’s perfect. Of course there is a time and place for everything but lighten-up and relax yourself with a good hardy laugh from the belly at least once a day.

Secondly, Forgive.

Holding a grudge will hurt no one but you. Forgive others for your own peace of mind. When you hold unforgiveness it’s like drinking poison and wishing that someone else would be effected. Forgive often and easily. Forgiveness is a decision not an emotion.

Gratitude is in the Attitude.

Develop an attitude of gratitude. Count your blessings; All of them – even the things that seem trivial. Be grateful for your arms, legs, your home, your work and most importantly your family and friends. Take the time to appreciate life and be grateful to life.

The tragic part about this post is that many people will just read it be forget the part where they need to apply the words. We hope that you share and apply this blog liberally. Thanks for visiting. Join Us on Facebook as well.

Browse the web, Chrome Fast

Browse the web, Chrome Fast

Darren Kincaid - Tuesday, May 25, 2010

As you can easily see from my constant blogging, I invest a lot of time on the internet.  Surfing the information super highway is like, way knarly!  Okay for a minute there I really felt like a surfer on a California beach somewhere.

But I have done the kick test with many of the popular web browsers.  Internet Explorer 8 is just not my preference.  I used FoxFire3 for a while.  It comes in at number in my book.  I really like the fact that they have spell check build into your surfing experience because I’m not the best speller in the world, by far.

But I was surfing around my Gmail account and after several days of seeing Google Chrome I decided to give it a try.  After all, I think that Google is the backboard of the internet.  If they could, I believe that they would just by the whole thing.  Seriously, I mean the whole internet, just write a big Googol sized check and purchase the entire internet.

But anyway… The first day that I used Google Chrome I was sold (keep in mind that Google Chrome is absolutely free).  The browser works as a search engine for quick searches and the whole web just suddenly becomes your friend.  If you don’t believe me download it for yourself from this very safe and secure Google Chrome download page

But before you do that, take a look at this cool video and see just how fast Google Chrome really is.
