Auston Grove will be accepting donations for the victims of this weekend’s horrific weather. Wake County is estimated to have over 1,000 people without homes and the storm claimed 22 lives. There are so many people who are hurting and we can do something to help. We will only be accepting supply donations which we will take to a Red Cross center on April 20. Depending on the need, we may have another round of supplies taken to the Red Cross next week as well.
Some examples of supplies needed are:
- Canned goods
- Tooth paste, tooth brushes
- Snacks
- Diapers, baby formula
- New clothing (socks, comfortable clothes)
- Bottled water
- Hand Sanitizer
- Trash Bags
- New Pillows and blankets
If you are interested I making a monetary donation, you can visit: https://american.redcross.org/site/Donation2?idb=1378772983&df_id=4993&4993.donation=form1 to do so.
A great article found on wral.com with information for anybody you may know who was affected by the storm is: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9453792/. There are shelter locations as well as storage units that are being offered at no cost.
It is important for our Wake County community to come together to help those in need in order to recover from this disaster. Please bring any supply donations to the Auston Grove Office by April 20. Any help is appreciated.
